Thomas Hudson Named to NIADA's Ring of Honor Award

Hanover, Md., June 15, 2017 - Thomas B. Hudson, a founding partner of Hudson Cook, LLP, was inducted on June 14 as the newest member of the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association's (NIADA) prestigious Ring of Honor. The Ring of Honor award is NIADA's highest award to a non-dealer, given to an allied industry executive who, through outstanding performance and leadership, has contributed to the professionalism and growth of the automobile industry. Hudson received the award on June 14 during the association's Convention & Expo in Las Vegas.

"I'm honored to be named to the Ring of Honor and to be recognized by an organization like NIADA that does so much to support dealers across the country," said Hudson.

Hudson now serves the firm he founded in an of counsel capacity and remains active in the consumer financial industries on which the firm's attorneys focus their practices. He has practiced consumer financial services law since 1973 and has focused his practice on matters relating to vehicle financing and leasing. His clients include captive foreign and domestic auto finance companies, major banks and independent finance companies, trade associations and many companies that supply services to the auto finance and lease industry. He also serves as outside general counsel to the National Automotive Finance Association.

Hudson is included in the 21st edition of The Best Lawyers in America in the practice area of Financial Services Regulation Law and named Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers 2015 Baltimore for Financial Services Regulation Law. He is a past president of the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers and in 2009, received that organization's Lifetime Achievement Award. Hudson is past chair of the American Bar Association Consumer Financial Services Committee's Personal Property Finance Subcommittee. He is also a member of the Governing Board of the Conference of Consumer Finance.
