Professional Experience

Lisa is a partner in the firm's Hanover, Maryland Office. She advises financial institutions, licensed lenders and servicers, and finance companies on issues related to compliance with Federal and state law.

Lisa assists clients with Federal and state law mortgage servicing issues, including compliance with the CFPB's Mortgage Servicing Rules. She served as one of the lead attorneys providing legal advice in connection with five Independent Foreclosure Review engagements from 2011 until 2013. As part of the foreclosure review, Lisa advised Independent Consultants on matters related to state law foreclosures, loss mitigation, fees, and the Servicemember's Civil Relief Act, and met with regulators and financial institutions regarding testing, legal issues, and findings.

Lisa also advises clients on issues arising under the Fair Credit Reporting Act and has worked with data furnishers to develop FCRA compliant policies and procedures.

Lisa has been a member of the Consumer Financial Services Committee of the American Bar and is admitted to practice in Maryland, D.C. and Virginia.

Prior to joining Hudson Cook, Lisa was an associate at Shulman, Rogers, Gandal, Pordy & Ecker, P.C., Rockville, Maryland, from September 2002 to December 2004. She worked in the commercial litigation department and her practice concentrated on contract, partnership, corporate, and employment disputes. She conducted legal research, drafted pleadings and argued motions in Maryland State Courts.

Lisa served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Hon. Ann S. Harrington in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland from August 2000 to August 2002. She analyzed legal arguments, prepared legal memoranda, drafted opinions and orders, and assisted with court proceedings.

Lisa received her law degree in 2000 from the University of Maryland School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology (summa cum laude) in 1993.
