Professional Experience

Elizabeth A. Huber is a partner in the Maryland firm Hudson Cook, LLP, located in the firm's Orange County office. Ms. Huber's practice includes the counseling of financial institutions and financial services companies in the areas of consumer lending and retail financial services, including federal and state regulation of consumer lending and leasing and state licensing issues. Ms. Huber is experienced in counseling lenders regarding Federal and state law considerations in the establishment of housing finance programs, auto finance and leasing and other consumer loan and indirect programs.

Ms. Huber advises clients on the requirements of Title V of the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley (Privacy) Act and Regulation P, as well as FACT Act amendments to the Fair Credit Reporting Act dealing with consumer credit reporting and identity theft issues. In addition, Ms. Huber assists clients in treading the currents of California privacy and identity theft law and the interplay of those laws with federal law.

Prior to forming Hudson Cook along with founding partners Thomas B. Hudson, Robert A. Cook and others in January 1997, Ms. Huber served for nine years as in-house counsel with Toyota Financial Services, the finance subsidiary of Toyota Motor Sales USA, Inc. Prior to her tenure at Toyota Financial Services, Ms. Huber was in-house counsel with Mitsui Manufacturers Bank in Los Angeles.
