Partner Kate Fisher wins Maryland Bar Association's Business Law Section "Hero Award"

Hudson Cook LLP Attorney Kate Fisher won a Maryland Bar Association's Business Law Section "Hero Award" for her role in a volunteer effort to educate Marylanders on preventing financial exploitation of older adults. The award was presented on May 8, 2019 at the Business Law Section Council dinner.

Kate and fellow members of the Business Law Section's Consumer Credit and Financial Institutions Committee have organized and presented the Money Smart for Older Adults program in senior centers in Maryland.

The Money Smart for Older Adults program raises awareness among older adults and their caregivers on how to prevent elder financial exploitation and encourages advance planning and informed financial decision-making. Money Smart for Older Adults was developed jointly by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The Maryland Bar Association's Consumer Credit and Financial Institutions Committee has customized the presentation for Marylanders.
