Partner Lisa DeLessio presents on-demand session for American Bankers Association Virtual Conference

The American Bankers Association Risk and Compliance Virtual Conference is being presented in an on-demand format to allow participants to access over 50 sessions on a range of consumer compliance and risk management topics. According to the conference website, topics include fair and equitable banking, pandemic response strategies, CECL implementation, UDAAP, mortgage lending, addressing liquidity risk in an economic downturn and more.

Hudson Cook Partner Lisa DeLessio is joined by Nessa Feddis, Senior Vice President, Senior Counsel, Consumer Regulations and Compliance Solutions, American Bankers Association, to present "Credit Reporting and Understanding Disputes in a COVID World." In this session, they explore the legal requirements under the FCRA and CARES Act, options and responsibilities for reporting loans in the current environment. They also discuss some of the dispute investigation tools available to help banks analyze the volume and nature of their disputes to help them improve their credit reporting dispute procedures and compliance.

Lisa DeLessio advises financial institutions, lenders, and other businesses on compliance with various Federal and state consumer protection laws. She counsels clients on issues arising under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, with a focus on issues of importance to data furnishers. She assists furnishers in assessing risks related to credit reporting, developing and updating furnishing and dispute policies and procedures, as well as preparing for regulatory examinations. Lisa also has experience working with mortgage servicers, assisting with issues arising under Federal and state law mortgage servicing laws, including compliance with the CFPB's Mortgage Servicing Rules and Chapter 13 bankruptcy rules.
