Hudson Cook Attorneys Present at Numerous 2017 Spring Conferences
This spring, Hudson Cook attorneys have been busy traveling across the country to speak at conferences and share their legal knowledge and experience on topics relevant to consumer finance law across different industries.
In March, Jed Mayk attended the Consumer Bankers Association's CBA LIVE conference in Dallas, where he presented to the CBA's Home Equity Lending Committee on RESPA Section 8 risks for home equity lenders. Later that month,
Becki Kuehn spoke at the Experian Law Conference in Aspen, Colorado on two panels on the effects of the Trump administration on regulation and an update on CFPB and FTC actions.
The following month, Becki headed to New York to speak on vendor management at the ACI Conference on Consumer Financial Services Litigation. Also in April, Jean Noonan attended the Consumer Bankers Association CBA LIVE Conference where she moderated a panel on fair lending with the Department of Justice and the CFPB.
From April 23-25, CounselorLibrary.com, LLC, an affiliate of Hudson Cook, hosted its fourteenth annual Consumer Financial Services Conference in Baltimore. The conference, once again well attended by clients and guests of Hudson Cook, offered housing, auto, merchant cash advance and small business lending, and privacy breakout sessions, along with more general sessions of interest to all areas of the consumer finance and privacy industries. Panelists at the conference included a number of Hudson Cook attorneys, as well as other legal, financial and legislative experts.
In May, Jed Mayk, and Lucy Morris attended the Mortgage Bankers Association's Legal Issues and Regulatory Compliance Conference in Miami. Jed spoke on two panels discussing loan originator compensation and the TRID rule, and also participated in the conference's closing "Supersession." Lucy spoke on a panel discussing individual and executive liability.
Eric Johnson and Tom Buiteweg moderated an Auto Finance/CFPB panel in May, along with Paul Metrey of the National Automobile Dealers Association, at the Conference on Consumer Finance Law's Annual Meeting in Chicago. Justin Hosie also attended the same conference and participated on a panel that addressed ethical issues in advising disruptive entrepreneurs.
