Kate Fisher of Hudson Cook, LLP Honored with the Greg Nowak Impact Award by the Alternative Finance Bar Association

Hanover, MD - Hudson Cook, LLP is thrilled to announce that Kate C. Fisher, Partner at the firm, has been awarded the Greg Nowak Impact Award by the Alternative Finance Bar Association (AFBA). Fisher and Christopher R. Murray, Managing Member of Murray Legal, PLLC, have been recognized for their exceptional contributions to the legal community.

The award was established in honor of the late Greg Nowak who was a partner at Troutman Pepper and a founding member of the AFBA. The award is bestowed upon individuals who have exhibited unwavering commitment to the legal profession and have made significant contributions to the community. Last year's recipient of this distinguished award was David A. Picon, a Partner at Proskauer Rose LLP.

About Kate Fisher

Kate is a partner in the firm's Maryland office. Her practice focuses on the areas of Small Business Financing and Fintech. Kate represents banks, finance companies, private equity and investment bank investors, revenue based finance companies, and small business lenders establishing new programs and products, and conducts due diligence and compliance reviews of business financing portfolios. Kate is a founding member of the Alternative Finance Bar Association, an organization of attorneys who represent providing of financing to small businesses.

Kate has testified before the United States House of Representatives Small Business Subcommittee regarding improving small business capital access. She recently testified in a New York State Senate hearing regarding Fintech and Small Business Financing. Kate also recently testified before the Connecticut General Assembly's Banking Committee and the Maryland House Economic Matters Committee regarding proposed bills to regulate sales-based business financing transactions and has appeared several times before the California legislature regarding disclosures for business finance transactions.

Kate graduated first in her class from the University of Oregon Law School in 2005.
