On March 2, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam signed into law the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), which becomes effective on January 1, 2023. While the second state comprehensive consumer data privacy law in the nation is similar to the first (California's CCPA), Virginia's has a different scope and different obligations. Join Becki Kuehn and Webb McArthur as they break down VCDPA's application, consumer rights, company obligations and enforcement.
