Hudson Cook attorneys ranked in 2020 Chambers USA Guide

The firm is nationally recognized in Financial Services Regulation: Consumer Finance (Compliance).

Hanover, Md., April 28, 2020 - Hudson Cook, LLP is pleased to announce that Partners Michael Benoit, Nikki Munro and Jean Noonan have been recognized once again with a national ranking in the Chambers USA 2020 Guide in the Financial Services Regulation: Consumer Finance (Compliance) department. Hudson Cook was also ranked nationally for this department.

Michael A. Benoit is the Chairman of Hudson Cook. He advises banks, sales finance companies, auto dealers, leasing companies, mortgage lenders, and other creditors and technology providers on a wide range of consumer financial services law and provides federal legislative and regulatory advice and support to financial services trade associations. His practice includes consumer credit, electronic commerce, privacy, telemarketing, personal property financing and leasing, as well as creditor-based collection practices. Michael serves as Counsel to the American Financial Services Association's Vehicle Finance Committee and as Regulatory Counsel to the Consumer Credit Industry Association. He also serves as the Chair of the Personal Property Subcommittee of the American Bar Association's Consumer Financial Services Committee. Michael is proud to be among many of his Hudson Cook colleagues as a Fellow of the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers.

Nicole ("Nikki") Frush Munro counsels financial services providers on compliance with consumer financial services laws, including unfair, deceptive, and abusive acts or practices, as well as the investigations, rulemakings, and proceedings of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission. She assists national and state banks, credit unions, and other licensed lenders, sales finance companies, and motor vehicles dealers in the development and maintenance of nationwide consumer automobile finance programs, online motor vehicle sales assistance programs and electronic payment programs. Nikki serves on the State Government Affairs Committee, Vehicle Finance Committee and Women's Leadership Council of the American Financial Services Association, and on the Governing Committee of the Conference on Consumer Finance Law. Nikki is also a Fellow of the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers and serves on the Nominating Committee for the Board of Regents.

L. Jean Noonan's legal practice focuses on consumer financial services, fair lending, privacy and consumer protection matters. She counsels financial institutions, national mortgage companies, consumer reporting agencies and others in complying with laws related to consumer credit, privacy, e-commerce and unfair trade practices. A major portion of her practice involves assisting banks and other creditors in monitoring their fair lending compliance performance and implementing improvement strategies to mitigate risks. Jean has testified before Congress on legislative proposals relating to consumer financial services issues and lectures extensively on issues affecting financial institutions. She is a founding member and the President-Elect of the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers and serves on the Governing Committee of the Conference on Consumer Finance Law. Jean is one of six members of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Taskforce on Federal Consumer Financial Law, which will examine the existing legal and regulatory environment facing consumers and financial services providers and report on how the Bureau can improve federal consumer financial laws to benefit and protect consumers.
