Hudson Cook sponsors Women4Women reception at ACA International Convention & Expo

The 2019 ACA International Convention & Expo kicked off on Sunday, July 14 with the credit professional association's first Women4Women reception. According to ACA, the reception served as an organizing event to encourage women to network, share information and begin discussions about creating a more formal group. Hudson Cook was pleased to sponsor the reception, with welcome remarks presented by Partner Anastasia Caton, followed by the Navy's first female Tomcat pilot, Carey Lohrenz presenting a Q&A for the group before giving her keynote speech at the opening session for the conference.

On July 15, Partner Allen Denson participated on the panel, "Landmark Debt Collection Policymaking in Washington, D.C.." The panel presented the latest information on the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's (CFPB) proposed debt collection rule, and call blocking and labeling to a standing-room-only crowd. The panel included John McNamara, the Assistant Director of Consumer Lending, Reporting and Collections Markets at the CFPB who helped to write the proposed rule.
