Robert Cook receives Lifetime Achievement Award from American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers

Hudson Cook is pleased to congratulate Robert Cook on being selected to receive the Senator William Proxmire Lifetime Achievement Award from the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers. The award is granted periodically by the College to a person who has made significant contributions in the field of consumer financial services over his/her career. Robert was a Founding Member of the College in 1996 and served as its President from 2015-2017. The College will present the award to Robert at its annual dinner during the American Bar Association's Consumer Financial Services Committee Meeting this March.

Robert is a founding partner of Hudson Cook. In his more than 30-year career, he has assisted national and state banks, savings associations, credit unions, mortgage bankers and other licensed lenders in the development and maintenance of nationwide consumer finance programs, the creation of co-branded credit card arrangements, and the purchase and sale of credit card and other consumer loan portfolios. In addition to his involvement in the College, his longtime participation in many associations in his field has included: Chairman of the Consumer Credit Committee of the Federal Reserve Board Consumer Advisory Council; Chairman of the Subcommittee on Truth in Lending of the American Bar Association Business Law Section; Chairman of the Subcommittee on Consumer Credit, Business Law Section of the Maryland State Bar Association; and Chairman of the Subcommittee of Financial Institution Regulation, Section on Business Law, Young Lawyers Division of the American Bar Association.

Robert is the third Hudson Cook recipient of this prestigious award, joining the firm's co-founder, Tom Hudson, who received the award in 2009, and Anne Fortney, who received the award in 2014. There are currently 16 members of the College from Hudson Cook, including two newly elected members, Catherine Brennan and Becki Kuehn.
